    1. Tom Lyons explodes onto the scene with his debut novel, a perfect blend of historical fiction, romance, family ties, espionage, and horror.Mr. Lyons does an exceptional job of recreating historically relevant, post-World War II events that are realistic and exciting. The reader will quickly empathize with the protagonist JT and his canine side-kick, a lovably brilliant chocolate lab named Mickey, as they enter a tainted world of dark secrets and undercover activities, hoping to discover what hap [...]

    2. I picked this up last night while scrolling through new titles, and am glad I did. I had a hard time putting it down. The tension between the USS Indianapolis chapters are my favorite, also the genius of JT's dog, Mickey. Shark in the Water will pull at your heart strings as it tells a human story of family and what happens when family falls apart. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting an enjoyable, sad at times, but overall fascinating book involving the paranoia of the Cold War era.

    4. Books like this one are all too rare. There is the history written in the first-person tone of someone who knows it, perhaps experienced it in some parallel way. And the human side – haunting, personal. What begins as a kidnapping builds to a novel of the nuclear standoff in the Cold War with Russia. Shark in the Water keeps the tension high and the emotions wound tight. A definite treat from a superb author.
